UAE participates in the meetings of the World Energy Council in London

H.E. Dr. Matar Al Neyadi, the UAE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the World Energy Conference, which will be hosted by Abu Dhabi in 2019, has chaired The delegation of the UAE participating in the meetings of the World Energy Council in London.

The UAE National Committee presented a brief report in the World Energy Council about the preparations for hosting the 2019 World Energy Conference. Some of these preparations included the adoption of the logo of the conference launched by His Excellency Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy, in the presence of energy ministers in the GCC during their attendance of the Abu Dhabi Petroleum Forum in April last year; as well as the unveiling of the slogan of the conference, entitled "Energy for Prosperity."

HE Dr. Matar Al Neyadi talked about the role of energy in achieving prosperity in the world, and the efforts of the UAE in fighting against global energy poverty, and stimulating innovation through Zayed Award for Future Energy, and financing clean energy projects under the auspices of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE and IRENA.

The UAE is the first OPEC country and the first Arab country to host the World Energy Conference, held every three years.
